Australian Preview

 

Australian races are quite different to the European style of racing. Particularly they race very close to each other. It's very rare for a horse to change tactics and if the connections opt to do this it is well broadcasted to the Punters. So for Australian races a Speed Chart or Speed Map is very effective. Horses names will appear when your mouse goes over each individual horse image.

CANTERBURY 3rd JANUARY 2007

Fine / Track Good 3 / Rail out 6m from 1300m - Post

Race 1 - 7.00pm (0-75) 1550m

                                                    Go Go Apollo. Honest horse, possibly past his best and may struggle to make an impact here.     Zuback. Good wins so far this prep but may get into a speed dual up front. Will win if he's not taken on up front.

                                                          Europa - Best ridden off the pace. Top weight here may be against her.    Baby Belle. Has to take a forward role otherwise a bit keen. Right in this. 

A tricky affair to get proceedings underway but a lot to like about Baby Belle. Should be able to lead from 1 but may not get peace from Zuback who will ensure a fast tempo. This will make Europa's task a lot easier under the 58kg buffer and being down in Class is a big positive. Europa is top selection from Baby Belle.

Pace = Fast       Favour = Europa         Lay = Zuback and Baby Belle
